Lay still in the silence,
Think about what u did 2day,
Lay still in the silence,
Who'd u say it 2,
What did u say?
U preach about god,
But u don't follow his word,
U judge, u point the finger,
U disrespect those who don't agree with u,
U lie, u try 2 represent,
But when a soldier's laid 2 rest,
U have the audacity to speak 4 god and say,
He don't love u,
Perhaps u should take a moment,
A couple steps away,
And think, think, and really really think...
Lay still in the silence,
Think about what matters most 2 u,
Lay still in the silence,
Tell the truth,
What would u do,
If somebody protested someone u love,
At their funeral,
How could they be so cruel,
2 choose 2 use ur last day,
2 fuel a hateful fire?!
And 4 your right 2 behave this way,
They're over there fighting still 2day,
So u can hold up signs saying god hates fags,
What harm has come 2 u that u can't see passed,
Ur nose 2 spite ur face?
Cuz I was taught we were made within GOD's image,
EVERYBODY equal, with no blemish,
United we stand, divided we fall,
Put down ur protest signs so we can all...
Lay still in the silence,
And thank him for laying down his life,
Lay still in the silence,
Say a prayer for his daughter and his soon 2 be wife,
Lay still in the silence,
Honor those who've beared their cross,
So that our freedom isn't lost,
And let each and every soldier's soul..
Get HOME 2 Jesus,
Far away from this madness,
Sorrow and senseless violence,
And let their families...
Lay still in the silence...
